The College Recruiting Process

Preparation is key

Learn all you can about Barton & Loguidice. Our website is a great place to start. It provides a great overview of our core business, and it contains links to recent company newsletters and press releases. By learning more about who we are and what we do, you will be able to make a more informed decision about a potential career with B&L.

Mentally prepare. You should be able to answer the following questions about yourself:

  • What type of work do you want to do?
  • What kind of working environment do you prefer?
  • What are your career goals?
  • Why are you interested in a career with Barton & Loguidice?
  • What are your strengths and how would they benefit B&L?

Interview us. Feel free to bring a list of questions that are important to you, and take notes during your interview. This will help you decide if Barton & Loguidice is the place you want to be.

Dress the part. We enjoy a business casual dress code at B&L. However, this is a professional interview, so please dress professionally for your interview.

What to expect

Once you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by B&L to schedule the interview. We will ask you to complete an online application prior to your interview and we'll provide you with driving directions. Your travel expenses may be reimbursed, depending on the length of your drive, and we will pay for any necessary overnight accommodations. Please remember to bring copies of your current resume, as well as your college transcript.

A brief phone interview may be conducted by the hiring manager or a human resources representative. If you are invited to come in for an interview, you will generally meet with the hiring manager, key members of the department's team, and a human resources representative. Certain positions also may require skill testing. We may ask you to return for a second interview. Of course, references and education will be checked before any offer of employment is extended.

First interviews typically last an hour or two. During this time, you will gain insight about the people you will be working with and the specific projects and activities you will be involved with every day. We’ll also review our benefits package with you. You should be prepared to answer general questions about your background and technical questions pertaining to class design projects and previous employment experience. Try to provide as much detail as possible in your responses.

After the interview

Following your initial interview, we will re-group to discuss your interview and determine the next steps. We will typically call you once we have completed our first round of interviews. At this time, we may schedule a second interview, ask for employment references, extend an offer of employment, or let you know that we have decided to proceed with other candidates.
