There continues to be a focus globally, nationally and at the state level on food waste reduction, recovery and recycling. In New York State, legislation for increasing food donation and food scrap recycling was brought forward in 2017, but not advanced.

Revised SPDES Multi-Sector General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Industrial Activity scheduled to take effect March 1, 2018

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is introducing a new SPDES Multi-Sector General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Industry Activity (MSGP) (GP-0-17-004). This permit regulates stormwater discharges from industrial activities. GP-0-17-004 is scheduled to commence on March 1, 2018 with a five year permit term. GP-0-17-004 is replacing the current MSGP (GP-0-12-001).

The Updated 6NYCRR Part 364 for Waste Transporters

The new regulations were reformatted into a 6 NYCRR Part 360 series of regulations, which includes Part 364 – Waste Transporters.

Summary of Transition Rules/Implementation of the Revised Solid Waste Regulations
