Mud Mills Road Bridge
What was the Challenge?
This 114-foot span pony truss bridge was over 30 years old and deteriorating. It is one of the few ways to cross Ganargua Creek. The bridge needed significant improvements and was given a load posting, or weight restriction, until it could be rehabilitated.
How did Barton & Loguidice provide a solution?
B&L worked with the Wayne County Public Works Department to improve the deteriorated steel stringer and floor beam members. The existing steel grate deck was replaced with a concrete deck and the load posting was able to be removed. New bridge and guide rails were also installed.
Why was the project a success?
This BridgeNY rehabilitation project extends the life of the bridge and removed the weight limit posting. It is now a much safer crossing. The project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
