Rensselaer County Emergency Operations Training Facility
What was the Challenge?
B&L provided environmental, architectural, and engineering services to provide Rensselaer County with a state-of-the-art emergency services training complex. The previous structure needed to be demolished, re-designed, and constructed to include a classroom facility, fire training tower, two storage trailers, smoke building and underground water storage tank.
How did Barton & Loguidice provide a solution?
Existing structures were demolished and replaced with a custom 6,200-square-foot emergency operations center and classroom building, as well as a fire training tower with live burn rooms. B&L provided the design for the tower and training needs that would enhance the training experience.
Why was the project a success?
B&L provided the civil/site engineering for redevelopment of the site, the design for a water reclaim system to recapture water used during fire training evolutions, an HVAC system with 5-ton air handler, and plumbing and electrical systems.
