Stormwater Inlet Asset Inventory and Inspection
What Was the Challenge?
The City of Annapolis needed a comprehensive understanding of the condition of approximately 4,000 City-owned stormwater catch basins and inlets. Accurate and up-to-date data was essential for effective maintenance planning, addressing public safety, and enhancing the City’s asset management systems.
How Did Barton & Loguidice Provide a Solution?
Barton & Loguidice was hired to conduct a Stormwater Inlet Asset Inventory and Inspection using a phased approach. To ensure accurate and efficient results, we used standardized field methods and mobile data collection tools to perform a thorough inventory and inspection process. Each inlet’s condition was evaluated to determine necessary maintenance, recommend repairs, or identify areas that require further inspection. The collected data is integrated into the City’s asset management systems, providing a robust foundation for informed decision-making and improved public communication.
Why Was This Project a Success?
Our phased approach provides the City of Annapolis a clear and detailed understanding of its stormwater inlet assets. Using mobile tools and standardized processes ensures high-quality data collection, while the condition assessments offer actionable insights for prioritizing maintenance and repairs. This project not only improves asset management but also supports bicycle and pedestrian safety, fostering trust and accountability in the City’s infrastructure planning efforts.
